There are occasions when instead of drinking wine,
there is a need to taste it.
What is the difference? Aren’t they the same?

The answer is most definitely no, they are not the same.

Drinking pleases, mellows, loosens the tongue and inhibitions; drinking wine with food increases the pleasure of both; drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life’s most civilised pleasures.

Tasting is learning; tasting is trying to understand more about the wine; tasting is to gain greater enjoyment from the wine through heightened sensual awareness.

And as with every other skill - practice makes perfect!
